Hudson Spider – Parabolic LED light...from our Parabolic LED lights for hire
A dimmable, tuneable bicolour LED fixture with bite
Clever design meets great build quality in the Hudson Spider
The Hudson Spider (Redback) is named after the notorious Australian spider. So, you can tell it’s a force to be reckoned with. And the first thing we noticed is the crazy shape. The 8 LED arms fold out to produce a beautifully soft parabola of light to rival the dedo-octadome. The light is also bicolour and Litegear, manufacturers of our popular range of Litemats, supplied the 3456 LEDs in the head. That’s how we know it’s built to last.
Take anywhere soft light in a tough package
The Hudson Spider gives soft light comparable to a bank of Kino Flo 4x4s, the articulated shape makes it even more flexible. It’s also built of sturdy but lightweight aluminium and the unit folds down into a compact tube for travel. In addition the whole kit, including diffusion, packs into a flight case that weighs less than 8kg.
Designed by cinematographers for cinematographers
Tim Hudson, the Australian born (go Aussie!) cinematographer who designed the light is CEO of the California-based company. He was determined to make a high end LED source that was also practical, portable and really useful. That’s why the Hudson Spider (Redback) is now a familiar sight throughout Hollywood. Use the light flat, parabolic, naked or with diffusion. It’s that flexible.
