Kino-Flo Freestyle T44 LED...from our LED tubes for hire
Kino Flo tubes reinvented
Here’s the bigger cousin of the Kino-Flo Freestyle T24 LED. As you might guess the Kino-Flo Freestyle T44 LED takes over from the Kino Flo 4×4′ bank florrie system. We love that Kino Flo are retrofitting these – we wish that more manufacturers would be that smart. Of course gaffer Frieder Hoffheim was the one who practically invented energy efficient lighting when the florrie tubes were introduced back in the 1980s. So it’s no surprise that he’s still innovating.
Kino Flo, but not as you know it
You still get 4x 4′ (1.2m) tubes, but this time they’re LED. The Kino-Flo Freestyle T44 LED is an update and an improvement. That’s because they use the same LED technology as the rest of the range but in a lightweight but really tough plastic tube. No more worries about glass tubes shattering. This fixture is portable and lightweight, of course it’s a big light, but you get a lot of features.
Perfect colour matching
Kino Flo’s True Match white light and RGBWW colour management system is an industry standard. That means that on camera you get the same soft, colour accurate light as the T12 hight output lights. Just like the smaller version, the Kino-Flo Freestyle T44 LED offers four individual modes and a really wide range of tuneable colour temperature. That means you can tweak the Gel/Hue mode to match colour exactly. There’s an FX mode of course with all the usual options. Or, if you are tight on time use the Kino Flo presets to select from over 100 pre-programmed gels.
The colour settings on the Kino-Flo Freestyle T24 LED are super flexible. Choose from four individual modes on the DMX Controller – White, Gels/Hue Colour, RGB Colour and FX. In White mode you can tune between 2700 and 6500k. Or, pick the Gel/Hue Colour mode and get a greater range – 2500k to 990 K. Short of time? Pick the Kino Flo presets which include blue and green screen, as well as over 100 lighting gels. And, the RGB Colour Mode is really flexible if you need individual control of the red, green and blue LED diodes. In FX you get all the usual suspects – candle and fire effects to police, paparazzi, pulse and scroll. No detail has been missed.
LED Bank that packs a punch
You’ll be pleasantly surprised by how bright the Kino-Flo Freestyle T44 LED is. Nearly as punchy as a 1000W tungsten softlight, and a lot less power hungry. The light reflector included in the kit really beefs up the output of the tubes without blowing the energy budget or frying the talent.
If you’re already a fan of Kino Flo LED panel fixtures like the Freestyle or you’ve cut your teeth as it were on the Kino Flo florries see what you think of the combination. We think you’ll agree that this light and it’s smaller cousin are the best of both worlds.
