With only days to go until the General Election it’s hard to find out where any of the parties stand on the Environment.

Political focus on the energy efficient products and practices that will help us all to a more sustainable future is pretty important to us. So we came up with an environment manifesto of our own that we hope you can support!

Energy efficiency is about doing more with less.  That’s why, here at Greenkit, we get so excited about the potential for LEDs, remote phosphor and other technologies to transform the way you make films, while not compromising the films you make. If you have a bulb that lasts for thousands of hours, on a light that can be battery powered, and that battery can be charged by solar energy or from a single electric socket you are already making a difference.

We are the only company to  offer you a biodegradeable poly, which can really make a difference to the environmental impact of your film. Our next steps are to source more generator options, maybe biomass fuelled, that are powerful and portable enough to meet your needs. In the meantime there’s the Solarpod portable generator, which is a neat solution when you have to work off the grid!

We’re also looking to source recycleable and organic versions of the most commonly used textiles. We’re always keen to find new ways to help you make films greener, so if you see something out there that would work for you and for the environment,  please let us know.
