The Skylite Rapid is a really exciting development in lighting. But it’s not even a light! We believe it’s the first real viable alternative to using Polyboard on set! This holds huge promise for the future of sustainable film making. It’s also a really handy, flexible tool for all kinds of film production.

The Skylite Rapid is a high quality, double sided textile reflector that clips to a lightweight aluminium frame. Mount it on a stand, or carry it using the specially designed handle to wherever you need it. This product has so many advantages over polyboard.

Firstly, it takes up almost no space. Unlike an 8’x4′ poly, even the largest Skylite Rapid folds down into a rigid case that’s only 1.2mx40cm. That’s small enough to fit in a hatchback, saving you time, trouble and transport miles.

Secondly, it’s reusable, in fact you can hire a double sided silver cover and a black/white for the same frame. Then you can avoid both silverboard and polyboard on set – a big tick for your production’s carbon footprint. The Skylite Rapid is the latest in a distinguished line of photographic reflectors from British manufacturer  Lastolite. The answer’s in the name so you know it’s going to last. They’ve collaborated with partner company Manfrotto who provide the skylite specific griphead to holds the product securely on a stand.
